Step 2: We Will Create a Sketch or Mockup

If you can provide a sketch or photograph of what you're looking for, that's very helpful -- but we can also assist you by creating a sketch or mockup of your preferred design.

If you want to see how a dining table base will work with a partiuclar size, we can create a basic sketch to help visualize it for you.

For new furniture designs, we can also create a photorealistic mockup. You can see examples of these mockups by looking at the photos to the right.

Step 3: We Create the Furniture

We create the pieces to your specifications, and ship them out to you with the same 100% satisfaction guarantee as our standard furniture.

We do not charge a 'custom furniture fee', as our craftsmen enjoy the challenge of working on a new furniture design. Custom furniture prices are based on the cost of materials and the time required to create the piece.

What Sorts of Customizations Can We Offer?

Custom Size: We can create furniture in the height, width and depth of your choice.

Custom Configuration: Custom furniture pieces can be created with your preferred layout of drawers and doors, and your choice of custom hardware (pulls, knobs, hinges and handles). We can also add wire guides, interior lighting, grommets and other modern features to any furniture piece.

Custom Styles: We offer over 60 distinct styles of furniture. However, the photos and styles on our website do not offer a comprehensive view of our range of furniture we offer.

If you don't see the matching furniture piece on our website, we can create a custom piece to your specifications. Many of our designs begin with a customer request such as, "I'd like a china cabinet in the zen style."

Custom Mixed Wood: Mixed wood designs can be very unique, and beautiful conversation pieces. The contrast in a mixed wood furniture piece comes from the natural color of the two hardwoods; the wood finish is clear.

The most common mixed wood combinations are walnut & hard maple, walnut & cherry, walnut & hickory, hard maple & cherry.

Some of the more complex mixed wood design elements include fluting, border designs, and diamond inlays.

Custom Wood Finish We offer 56 standard finish choices, but also work with customers on a number of custom wood finish options.

One of our most popular custom finish options is distressed wood, which is a finishing process that emulates the look of antique furniture. This is a complex and highly individualized wood finishing process.

Custom Hardwoods: We can also create a furniture piece from an exotic hardwood species, utilize reclaimed lumber, or utilize materials such as marble or glass in the furniture design.
