In our previous post, we discussed the design process for the studio desk. This post is a follow-up showing details of the construction process.
The desktop was created from 1.5″ thick solid wood, with each section of the desktop being crafted individually.
The sidewalls were created with beveled panels, which allows the wood to expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity. The desktop was connected to the base with hardware that allows the desktop to be removeable (per customer request).
These photos show the interior of the desk, prior to capping of the screws and staining.
Finally, a photo of the completed studio desk — delivered by Jake.
