Diary of a Custom-Made Table

by Erik Schimek on November 10, 2010

It begins with some sustainable, locally-sourced, solid hardwood.

The pieces are then carefully laid together to create the tabletop.

The wood pieces are then glued together, and the shape of the tabletop created.

Next, the table edge is created and supports are added underneath the table top.

The new tabletop is then fastened to the base. It’s so strong that it can withstand two heavy boxes of screws placed on one end of the table without tipping over!

And voila, a beautiful, custom-crafted, Turin style table!
