Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning of Standard Wood Finish

Dust, dirt and grime accumulates on any finished surface. These contaminants will harm the finish and they should be periodically removed to restore the finish to its original luster. Just wipe the surface with a cloth dampened with a non-wax containing polish or mild detergent solution.

You should avoid the use of ammonia-based products or silicone oils as they may cause damage if used over a long period of time. We recommend cleaning with orange oil.

Excessive prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures and high humidity can cause damage to both the finish and the wood itself. These should be avoided.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Oil & Wax Finish

For cleaning, we recommend the use of orange oil.

For maintenance, we recommend an additional application of oil and wax. Buff in a layer with a dry cloth, let it dry for an hour, then wipe away the excess with a second dry cloth. Let the furniture stand unused for 24-48 hours to let the wax set properly. You should do this 2-3x times per year.
