Questions on Placing an Order

How do I place an order
To place an order, simply add all desired items to your shopping cart. To place any of the items in a shopping cart, simply click on its price on its individual product page under "add to cart." You may change quantities by entering a desired number and hitting the 'recalculate' button. To remove an item, simply set its quantity to zero. Once complete, please hit the 'checkout' button. Our online ordering is secure. Order with confidence.
Is it safe shopping online?
We will keep all of your information private and secure. All orders are placed through our secure server.
What is your privacy policy?
We will never sell or share your personal information to third parties unrelated to the normal course of business (for example, providing your home address and phone number to the person who delivers your furnitutre is 'normal'). We would not like our information released to a third party, so we will not release yours.
What are your payment options?
You can pay via Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, or you can mail us a check if you feel so inclined.
I don't like ordering online. Can I order by phone?
Yes, please call us at 888-900-5235 to place your order, we'll be happy to assist you.
Is there any sales tax?
Only furniture items purchased in Minnesota, or shipped to Minnesota are subject to sales tax.
How does coupon discount work?
Once you sign up to our newsletter, you will receive a coupon code that can be used at checkout. Simply enter the coupon code to receive your discuount in the shopping cart, or call us at 888-900-5235 to place your order over the phone.
How does the shipping discount work?
The shipping discount will not display in the shopping cart, but you can either:
1) Call us at 888-900-5235 to place your order, or
2) Place your order online, and we will make the necessary adjustment to your shipping cost.

Questions on Shipping

Is your furniture pre-assembled?
Yes, our furniture is shipped pre-assembled. The only exception to this is our baby cribs, which are shipped as five unassembled panels to save on shipping costs.
How do I care for my new furniture?
We recommend orange oil for cleaning, and oil & wax finish to maintain oil & wax based furniture. Please see our care & maintenance page for details.
How quickly will I receive my furniture?
Most furniture is created in 4-6 weeks, with 1-3 weeks for delivery. We also offer quick ship items for baby furniture, bedroom furniture and dining furniture that ship out much sooner.
Do you ship to (insert international destination here)?
We primarily ship to the United States and Canada, but we have delivered pieces to locations as far away as Japan and England. Please contact us for assistance.
Do you ship to Alaska/Hawaii?
Yes, please contact us for a price quote.

Do you have a catalog?
Our inventory is always growing, consequently we do not have a hard copy catalog. Our website is intended to be our catalog.
How is your company 'organic'?
The owners of Erik Organic are committed environmentalists, and are dedicated to the dual causes of sustainability and creating a healthy home. Please see the section on our history for details.
Is your furniture American made?
Yes, our furniture is made in America. The solid hardwoods used in our furniture are locally grown and harvested in the Upper Midwest. Most of our wood is harvested from land within 50 miles of the Amish craftsmen we work with in Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin. Purchase of this wood employs Midwestern farmers with hilly sections of their land set aside for selective hardwood harvesting, tree farms, and sawmill operators. Hardwoods are the largest single expense/component of our furniture. We use high quality metal hardware and wood finishes, most of which are manufactured here in America. Purchase of our furniture employs Amish craftsmen and their assistants, who are able to craft furniture in their own workshop to supplement their farming income. This allows them to stay connected to the land.
Do you have a store or showroom?
No, we do not. We work with several dozen craftsmen across five midwestern states and deliver custom-made furniture all across the country -- this makes the logistics of having a showroom or storefront challenging. It is an option that we're considering down the road.
