Round Kitchen Tables

Dining rooms are essentially formal eating areas, and nicely accommodate the square or rectangular tables commonly associated with sit-down dinners in the evening or on holidays.

Round tables, on the other hand, suggest cozier get-togethers; a few friends for coffee, the in-laws for fondue. In fact, one can speculate that Early American kitchen tables would all have been round if not for the fact that it was difficult to cut a perfect circle with the primitive hand tools available to our forefathers – not to mention the waste of the precious hardwood lumber they had to cut, dry and shape for themselves.

Erik Organic offers several superb round kitchen tables, the first being a Drop Leaf Table that fits nicely into a corner or alcove when not in use, and provides seating for four or more when needed.

The top, set on a classically stylish Riverside pedestal base, and hinged with the finest American-made hardware, gleams in autumn oak, a rosy shade that allows all the magnificent grain of the wood to show through.

Of course, almost any of Erik Organic's tables can be made with a round rather than rectangular top, which allows customers to choose from the pedestal-style Parma, or the strikingly geometric Victoria, with its curving, 90-degree angle panels that support a top fashioned from 1.5 inches of solid hardwood, and an undercarriage that demonstrates how solid these tables really are.

Choose Americana in the Pennsylvania Kitchen Table, or Art Nouveau in the Dane Kitchen Table. Whatever your choice, you can be sure that the craftsmanship will be superb, providing you with an heirloom quality table deserving to be passed down to your children and grandchildren.
