Custom Kitchen Tables

There are times when ready-made or pre-sized kitchen tables simply won't fit the space you have planned for them.

This happens in conversion apartments or condos, where exterior walls remain to conscribe and describe the living spaces carved out between them. In many cases, these cramped, narrow or oddly-shaped kitchens are the result of poor planning or lack of adequate funding.

In other instances, homes are simply not designed to accommodate a kitchen table. This is true because having a table in any room requires an additional five feet of space for the chairs to be moved out from the table as people get up or down to leave or come back, and many small home designs from the lean-energy years of the 1970s had a working kitchen and separate dining area.

Not only can you request a specific size in a style that appeals to you – whether simple Mission or ornate Parma – but you can ask for the wood(s) you would like the builders to use, and the finishes which will protect your table's surfaces.

Choose from American hardwoods like oak, maple, cherry, hickory and walnut, in shades from the palest natural hickory to Midnight oak, a shade only a few degrees from black. In fact, Erik Organic also offers the rare but highly desirable whitewash oak, for furniture that would fade into the walls if not for its unique style and heirloom-quality construction.
