For the cost conscious, oak or maple is the preferred option. Both woods are versatile, and can be stained a number of different colors. For added durability, we recommend hard maple and hickory. Chair Arms Choose between a chair with arms, and one without. This is often referred to as a side chair (no arms) and an arm chair (with arms). This option adds 4-5" to the chair width.
