Walnut Armoires

Walnut is an appealing wood species that is ideal for bedroom furniture. Purchasing a walnut armoire is the perfect way to bring character into your home, while offering a functional piece of furniture that can store some of the finest belongings.

Many modern-day homes lack the necessary storage for keeping clothes, blankets and decorative pillows. This is especially true with high-end lofts or condos that are limited on storage space. With a walnut armoire, you can add that storage room back to your living space, without compromising the upscale look of your home.

Armoires are built tall instead of wide, so they don't take up much floor or wall space. With their unique structure, they look best positioned in corners or underneath vaulted ceilings. They do dominate in rooms, as they'll most likely be the tallest piece of furniture. Since armoires differ from dressers or vanities in that they don't include a mirror, you can always opt for a free-standing mirror to go alongside the armoire.

Walnut is straight grained and takes on a golden brown color as it ages. It's remarkably beautiful and offers grain patterns that have hints of grey, purple and blue. Walnut can be stained a variety of colors, but can also be enhanced with oil and wax, relying on its natural properties to shine through. When purchasing a walnut armoire, you'll be surprised at just how much elegance it offers to the bedroom.

Double closet doors are situated on the top half of the armoire and open up to shelving and/or a clothing rod. This space is perfect for folding or hanging clothes and serves as a wonderful addition to the standard closet. The bottom drawers glide out effortlessly, lending more room for clothes and accessories. With today's changing trends, armoires are not just for bedrooms. They look stunning in dining rooms for storing fine china or tea sets, and can also be placed in the family room with a TV carefully mounted inside.

Perhaps this is what is most wonderful about investing in a walnut armoire; it can be moved from one room to the next. With this versatility, you can expect that the armoire will last for an extended lifetime and be passed down from one generation to the next. When shopping through Erik Organic, you will enjoy the necessary quality and splendor that is put into each piece and made to last for generations.
