Changing Table Characteristics
Each changing table is individually handmade to a high quality standard, and is designed to outlast the owner. Our furniture will become the next generation's heirlooms and antiques.
All changing tables include a removable 4" safety rail. This rail can be removed, converting the changing table into a small dresser.
We can also create a changing table to match the style of any of our baby cribs or bedroom dressers, please contact us to discuss this in detail.

Changing Table Options: An Explanation of Terms
Hardwood: We offer eight standard hardwood choices on our changing tables. You can learn more about the qualities of these hardwoods on our hardwood sample pages.
Size: We offer several standard sizes for our changing tables. You can see these configurations by clicking here.
All changing tables come standard with a safety rail, which prevents the baby from sliding around on top of the changing table. This safety rail is removable, so the piece can convert into a small dresser when your child grows up. (The listed height of a changing table does not include the 4" high safety rail).
Custom sized changing tables are also available, and can be created to nearly any size, with your preferred layout of drawers and doors. Please contact us for a price quote.
Wood Finish: Select the finish to match your choice of hardwood. You can learn more about the qualities of these finishes in our hardwood sample pages.
The most common wood finish choice on our changing tables is oil & wax. The most popular hardwoods are oak and cherry.
Hardwood Rear Panel: All visible exterior potions of our changing tables (the front, sides and top) are created from solid hardwood.
The rear panel of the changing table is crafted from high-quality composite wood, and is intended to face the wall).
When upgrading to a solid wood rear panel, the back of the changing table is created in the same hardwood and style as the front of the piece. You can see an example of this on the back of a shaker style dresser.
Changing Table Construction
Our furniture is 100% American-made, and is created from American-made hardware and American-grown hardwoods. Your purchase of an Erik Organic furniture piece directly supports the rural Midwestern economy. Each crib is created from solid hardwoods that are locally grown and harvested in the Upper Midwest.
Our changing tables are created from solid hardwood. A cherry changing table is created from solid cherry hardwood, an oak changing table is created from solid oak hardwood.
The safety rail on a changing table is created from the same hardwood as the front of the piece (oak, cherry, maple, etc).
The rear panel of our changing tables are crafted from a high-quality composite wood, created by gluing thin strips of solid wood together into a thicker panel. You can see an example of this wood in oak in this photo, shown on two armoires. The composite wood panel is shown on the rear wall of the armoire.
The drawers are created utilizing traditional dovetail construction, which is used to draw them into a single, strong box that is durable and will hold a heavy load. Roller slides of the highest quality assure that the drawers will pull smoothly for many years to come. Authentic pulls provide beauty and assure that the drawers will be easy to open.
Changing Table Shipping
Shipping: The time to create our changing tables range from 4-6 weeks. Shipping is generally via curbside freight, although very small changing tables can ship out via UPS. Curbside shipping generally takes 1-3 weeks for delivery.
The shipping prices listed above presume delivery via UPS or curbside freight. Other delivery options, including inside the home setup and delivery are also available.
