Natural Amish Furniture
Erik Organic is dedicated to providing high quality home furnishings that are designed to last, contribute to a healthy and safe home, and sustainably support the rural Midwestern communities where the pieces are made.
Our goal is to provide safe and beautiful furniture for you and your family. We use solid hardwoods in all of our furniture, finished with natural oil and water-based wood finishes.
Each piece is joined together with strong Amish wood joints and high quality hardware, and is made individually by hand.
A Focus on sustainability
We offer heirloom quality furniture that is created to last for generations if cared for properly, which is longer than the time it takes for the renewable resource (hardwoods) to regrow.
The purchase of a furniture piece from Erik Organic helps to support the rural Midwestern economy.
The hardwoods used in our furniture are locally grown and harvested in the upper Midwest. Most of this hardwood does not travel more than 100 miles from cutting, to the sawmill, and then to the Amish workshop where your furniture is created. The businesses involved in this process are primarily small, family-owned operations.
We work with Amish woodworkers who are more conservative than most. Due to their isolated geography and preference for limited English (non-Amish) contact, woodworking is one of the few ways these communities have found to consistently provide for their families.
All of our furniture pieces are created in small Amish workshops, not large furniture factories that are only nominally 'Amish'. The individual care and attention of a master craftsman is an indispensable part of the furniture-making process.
